Metrorail To Open Early For National Marathon Saturday

WASHINGTON -- Metrorail will open at 5 a.m. on Saturday for the SunTrust National Marathon.The race begins at 7 a.m. near the Stadium-Armory Metrorail Station on the blue and orange lines.Spectators can watch racers by riding to Stadium-Armory, L’Enfant Plaza, Federal Triangle, Smithsonian, U St/African-American Civil War Memorial/Cardozo, Shaw-Howard University, Waterfront-SEU, Navy Yard and Anacostia Metrorail stations.
Metrobus and MetroAccess service is expected to be hindered due to road closures, Metro officials said.
Forty-one bus routes will be rerouted. The following routes will be impacted: 5A, 13A, 13B, 13F, 13G, 32, 34, 35, 36, 38B, 40, 52, 54, 66, 70, 80, 90, 92, 96, 98, A42, A46, A48, B2, D4, D6, D8, G8, H2, H4, L2, M6, N6, N22, P6, S2, S4, U6, V8, X2 and X8.Travels are asked to build extra time into their schedules.
