A former volunteer with a Manassas middle school was convicted by a federal grand jury Thursday for producing and distributing child pornography.
David Alexander Battle, 24, was a volunteer at Grace E. Metz Middle School and was arrested by Manassas police last June after authorities found evidence of child porn at his home, including two gigabytes of videos that appeared to show infants.
Battle has been convicted on four counts including production of child pornography, attempted coercion and enticement of a minor, receipt of child pornography and distribution of child pornography.
He was first charged on Aug. 6, 2015. According to the Department of Justice, Battle posed as a minor girl to chat online with minor boys and coerce them into sending him sexually explicit images of themselves. Evidence showed he personally knew two of the boys he chatted with.
Battle faces a minimum sentence of 15 years in prison. His sentencing is scheduled for June 10.
