Station 9 to Host Grammy-Nominated Singer

On Thursday, an A-list cast will gather at Station 9 Restaurant on U Street to commemorate the birth of the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and the impending Presidential Inauguration of Barack Obama.

Grammy-nominated R&B singer Raheem DeVaughn will be performing live and remarks will be given by some of the nation's most distinguished voices, like Benjamin Todd Jealous, President-elect, NAACP, U.S. Representative William Lacy Clay (D-MO) and famed comedian and activist Dick Gregory along with a host of other prominent figures.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Hoop Dreams Scholarship Fund (HDSF.)

The event will kick off at 6 p.m. Live performance and remarks will begin around 7 p.m. Station 9 is located at 1438 U Street, NW, Washington, D.C.
