Teen Arrested In Waldorf Hit-And-Run

LA PLATA, Md. -- Police in Charles County have made an arrest in a hit-and-run that left a military veteran severely injured.It happened late last month along a bike trail near the Edinburgh Court area of Waldorf. Police said a 17-year-old Waldorf boy was speeding down the bike trail when he allegedly struck 20-year-old Clarissa Nail, who was on a late-morning jog. Naill suffered multiple fractures and cuts and said she doesn't remember anything about the accident.After an anonymous call to Crime Solvers, police said they were able to identify the suspect. He was charged at 4:30 p.m. Thursday after turning himself in at the sheriff's headquarters.
Authorities said they are investigating why the teen took his vehicle off the roadway.
