CHANTILLY, Va. -- The Virgin Atlantic Global Flyer arrived at the Dulles air and space museum Tuesday afternoon and will be placed on display.The plane took the longest nonstop flight around the world.
Pilot Steve Fossett flew the aircraft to the Steven Udvar-Hazy Center. The plane will be displayed in a hanging position amid the general aviation collection.Fossett said the 67 hour and 1 minute flight in 2005 is his most important accomplishment so far.
