D.C. police said the body of 22-year-old Arvin Sharma was pulled out of the Anacostia River. A passerby saw a body near the Eleventh Street Bridge and called police around 9:45 a.m. Monday.

Sgt. Joe Gentile, a spokesman for the Metropolitan Police Department, said the cause of death is expected to be determined by an autopsy. Police said they have found no evidence of foul play.

Sources told News4 that when the body was recovered, investigators found Sharma's wallet and other valuables. They said one of his boots was missing.

Sharma was last seen in the early hours of April 16 at a nightclub on Half Street in Southwest Washington, about a block away from the Anacostia River. He disappeared at about 2 a.m. Relatives have said they suspect foul play, insisting it was unlike Sharma to disappear. Reports said that when it came time to leave Club Lime, the friends Sharma went with were unable to find him.

Sharma was a senior who was supposed to graduate next month.
