Speeding Drivers Warned: No More Grace Periods

Speeders Could Get Tickets Up To $200

POSTED: 10:06 pm EST March 21, 2005

There will be no more warnings for drivers who speed past new cameras in the district, News4 reported.

Two of those speed cameras are in Northwest on 16th Street and MacArthur Boulevard. The other two are in Northeast on Michigan Avenue and Benning Road.

The cameras were activated last month. Until now, they only issued warning notices to violators.

But the grace period ended on Monday.

Tickets ranging up to $200 will be mailed out to speeders who are caught.
