WASHINGTON -- Bill Cosby is in town this week to attend political events addressing problems within the African-American community. On Wednesday, Cosby met with leaders of the National Action Network, including Al Sharpton. Cosby is the co-chair of the group, which focuses on improving parenting in black communities."I've spoken to police chiefs, talked to psychiatrists, talked to school board superintendents. I've spoken to teachers, and it still comes back to parenting," Cosby said. "And we want -- if you need help and you really don't know how to parent -- we want to be able to reach out and touch you."
The meeting coincides with the Congressional Black Caucus Conference being held this weekend. Both Cosby and Sharpton are expected to attend some of those events, as well.
