The video shown to delegates at the Republican National Convention also starred White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card.

The plot: How to get Barney to help President George W. Bush win the canine vote.

A reluctant Barney caves in to pressure for a month's supply of dog treats.

In a dream sequence, Barney's campaign makes history when the masculine Barney takes on the feminine "Fifi" John Kerry dog in the first ever dog debate.

The next day, while a version of the theme from "Rocky" plays in the background, Barney travels the country and returns to a hero's welcome at the White House.
