Suicide Bomber Attacks Pakistani Mosque, 28 Dead

At least 28 people were killed and 45 others injured Friday after a suicide bomber attacked a mosque in northwestern Pakistan, Reuters reported. Dr Saeed Ahmad, the Hangu police chief, said 19 people were initially killed and 45 others injured in the blast. Ahmad also said that five policemen were killed in the attack. District police chief Dr. Saeed Khan told NBC News that the suicide bomber blew himself up in the crowded marketplace in front of the mosque just as worshippers were leaving Friday prayers."Most of the dead were moving in and out of the mosques in the marketplace after Friday prayers when the bomb went off," senior police officer Imtiaz Shah told Reuters. No one has immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.
