WASHINGTON --
FBI Director Robert Mueller says the investigation into the deadly sniper shootings in the Washington, D.C., area is going "exceptionally well."
During an appearance on Capitol Hill, Mueller said there are almost 450 FBI agents helping out, along with nearly 200 more from the ATF.
Mueller says they've gotten thousands of leads, and he says some received in the past week look hopeful.
Mueller paused to remember Linda Franklin, the FBI analyst who was killed in Falls Church, Va., on Monday. She was the latest victim of the sniper.
Since Oct. 2, there have been 11 shootings linked to the same weapon, nine of them deadly. One survivor, a 13-year-old boy shot outside his school, has been upgraded from critical to serious condition.
