STERLING, Va. -- A tornado watch remains in effect until 1 a.m. for the entire Washington region.A severe thunderstorm warning for Fredericksburg, King George County, east central Spotsylvania County and southeastern Stafford County in Virginia remain in effect until 9:30 p.m.At 8 p.m., radar indicated a line of severe thunderstorms extending from 10 miles west of Dahlgren to Massaponax and moving east at 30 mph.
Earlier Storms Pound Area
There were two unconfirmed reports Wednesday of tornadoes touching down in the Washington region as a line of extremely strong storms blew through the area during the afternoon.Trained spotters reported tornadoes touching down in both the Huntington area of Fairfax County, Va., and in the Huntingtown area of Calvert County, Md., at 3:45 p.m.Forecast
