Arlington Unveils New 911 Call Center

ARLINGTON, Va. -- Arlington County unveiled a new Emergency Communications Center on Friday.The new center is the first major upgrade since 1993, and includes more 911 lines, digital monitors and energy-efficient equipment, officials said.Arlington is the first jurisdiction in the region to install a digital radio system that adheres to new national standards, according to the county.
Responders will start receiving 911 calls there on May 20.The ECC is part of Arlington's Office of Emergency Management, which was created in 2003.
