Md. Corrections Department Breeds Drug-Sniffing Dogs

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services has decided to breed its own drug-sniffing dogs, the first program of its kind in the country.They have raised two litters of puppies. The pups from the second litter are only five months old, but they'll soon be fully trained.Officers said they really get to know their dogs, and it's much less expensive.
