Men Steal Money From Church Collection Boxes

FAIRFAX, Va. -- Investigators are looking for two men who stole money from donation boxes at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Fairfax.Investigators said the men entered the church at 3704 Old Lee Highway just before 4 p.m. on April 25 and broke into the donation boxes.Mounted surveillance cameras caught footage of the men stealing the money. The camera showed the men blessing themselves, walking past the pews and heading toward the donation boxes.
Police and church officials said they do not know exactly how much money was stolen.When the men are found, police said they will likely be charged with grand larceny and felony destruction.Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Solvers at 703-591-TIPS (8477). A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
