LEXINGTON PARK, Md. -- A man is accused of shooting his ex-wife and killing another man in Lexington Park, police said.

Koummane Virasith, 39, has been charged with first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder.

Police responded just before midnight Thursday to a report of a shooting Liberty Street.

Police found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds just outside an apartment building.

Thomas John Saunders, 38, and Melissa Lea Virasith, 40, were flown Prince George's County Shock Trauma.

Saunders was pronounced dead at the hospital. Melissa Virasith suffered two gunshot wounds and is listed in critical condition.

The suspect is being held at the St. Mary's County Detention Center.
