Police in Northern Virginia are targeting drivers who don't buckle up.

Local police departments are taking part in a statewide initiative dubbed "Click it or Ticket." The stepped up enforcement began Sunday and continues through the week.

Officers will be watching for drivers and passengers who aren't wearing their seat belts and for children that are not properly restrained.

The fine for not wearing a seat belt in Virginia is $25.
