1 Of 2 Custom Cars Stolen From Wheelchair-Bound Man Found

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Some holiday joy came for a paraplegic man whose two specially designed cars were stolen from him last week. The cars were specially designed so he could drive them using hand controls.Ronnie Bowles, who uses a wheelchair, said he looked outside on the morning of Dec. 26 and noticed the vehicles were gone.One of the cars, a 1981 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, has turned up in the District, police said. They gave Bowles the news Monday.
Bowles said he can't wait to get his car back, but he will have to wait until Wednesday when the impoundment lot in Northeast D.C. reopens.Bowles' other car, a 2000 Ford Crown Victoria, is still missing.Stay with News4 and nbc4.com for complete coverage.
