Police Say Family Has Been Told Girl's Safety May Be In Jeopardy

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. -- Police are searching for a 16-year-old Burtonsville girl last seen by her family Oct. 31.Shantle Brown is described as a black female, 4 feet 11 inches tall and weighing 125 pounds. She has brown eyes and black, shoulder-length hair that she may be wearing pulled back from her face, police said. She wears eyeglasses with thick black frames and has a heart tattoo on her left bicep with the name “Jackie” or “Jacqueline” inside it. She may be wearing an orange bomber jacket.
A 1994 Mercedes four-door sedan, black over gray in color, with Maryland tags 3AWV67 is also missing from her residence. Police do not know if Brown is driving this vehicle. She does not have her driver’s license, they said.Police said Brown's family has received information that suggests her safety may be in jeopardy.Anyone with information about Brown's whereabouts is asked to call the Montgomery County Police Family Crimes Division at 240-773-5400 or the police non-emergency number at 301-279-8000.
