ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- A woman's claim that she was sexually assaulted turned out to be unfounded by police, but the story they discovered while interviewing her turned out to be much more interesting, WBAL-TV reported.Annapolis police said that when they were interviewing Catherine Delgado, 35, of Greenbelt, Md., about her assault claims, they noticed that she had so much chocolate fudge in her pockets that it was spilling out.On a hunch, an officer went to Uncle Bob's Fudge Kitchen, a nearby fudge shop, and found the shop door open and the display racks ransacked, officials said.
According to Bob Lawinger, the shop's owner, "If she didn't like it, she threw it on the floor. If she did like it, she took it with her."Police said an officer checked the bathroom after meeting with Delgado. They said she apparently tried to flush the fudge down the toilet and ended up clogging it.Delgado faces burglary charges.
