Man Shot After Breaking Into Officer's Home

DISTRICT HEIGHTS, Md. -- Police in Prince George's County said a homeowner in District Heights, Md., shot a man who allegedly broke into his home early Tuesday morning.Police said the break-in happened about 1:15 a.m. in the 2300 block of Breton Drive.The homeowner, an officer with the Federal Protective Service, shot the intruder in the arm, police said.
The man was taken to the hospital and is recovering, police said. He will be taken into custody once he's released.Police said no one else was injured.Stay with News4 and nbc4.com for complete coverage.
