The D.C. Attorney General's Office acknowledged on Monday that they have received a lawsuit from the family of a slain New York Times journalist.

The family of David Rosenbaum filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the District and Howard University Hospital. The lawsuit claims D.C. rescuers and the hospital made errors in caring for Rosenbaum.

Rosenbaum was robbed, beaten with a pipe and left to die in a Northwest neighborhood in January. According to the lawsuit, rescuers misdiagnosed Rosenbaum as a drunk and classified him as a low priority. He wasn't seen by an emergency room doctor until 90 minutes after the attack.

Neither Howard University Hospital nor D.C. Fire and EMS had a comment on the lawsuit Monday afternoon.

Earlier this month, Percey Jordan was convicted in Rosenbaum's death. His cousin, Michael Hamlin, had already pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.
