WASHINGTON -- The Central Union Mission is putting a lot of smiles on children's faces during the holiday season. They have been handing out Christmas bags to children since the 1920s and the formula hasn't changed. Donated gifts arrive in bags. Then they're wrapped, tagged, labeled and presented to the children."There's nothing like it," said Shelah Wilcox. "You brought a smile to their face."
Latasha Fonville's children are among those who were smiling. She said the group gives a huge boost to those families facing a tight holiday budget."It's better than wonderful," Fonville said. "It's a place you'll be able to put a smile on your kids' faces because they provide good things."Her 10-year-old son Marqusce agrees, saying, "You're getting presents and you're not asking for it. They're just giving it to you because they care."For more information, click here.
